white as snow.

It has been a few years since I've seen snow this deep. This morning we measured 14 inches. To me there is really nothing more enchanting, weather wise, then the snow. I could sit for hours by a window, watching it gently fall from the endless gray sky. I have a weakness towards beautiful events of nature such as this. The Lord most often speaks to me using nature as His tool for teaching me monumental lessons.

"Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow."

I am nothing but a crimson stained pile of dirt. But...because I serve a loving and merciful God, I am washed white as snow by His blood that He shed for not only my sins, but for all sins.

Today, He sent a blanket of snow to clothe the crimson stained earth. So similarly He clothes me, not only in strength and dignity, but  He washes my crimson stains and I am instantly covered by a blanket of pure white snow. My formerly sin stained heart is washed clean, immaculate, pure. Why? ... The only answer I could possibly come up with for that simple but heavy question is, because He is merciful.

While Jesus offers absolute freedom for us, here is the most important piece to understand...we must expose ourselves. The snow only covers what is exposed. Right now, I can guarantee you that there is not a speck of snow underneath my car. Although, my car is completely surrounded and buried by the snow, underneath my car has not seen a single flake...because it is hidden. It is in the dark. It is unexposed to the purification that the miraculous, merciful snow, offers. While Jesus offers absolute freedom, He also gives us freewill. WE have to choose Jesus, THEN the freedom is ours. He can not force us to repent and expose our sinful hearts and what we have been hiding in the secret shadows. Jesus desires to set us free but He won't move in on us until we choose in. The truth is, our God is on a hot pursuit for His lost children. He wants nothing more then for us to confess Him as our Lord and Saviour so that He gets to bring a heaping load of pure white snow to clothe the wicked dirt that we are without Him.

He is everything that I need and I am nothing without Him. Brick by brick my foundation is being laid with the truth that Jesus is everything good. When I expose myself and never cease to pray, He sends healing knocking at my door to receive. I am falling in love with the season that I am in because He is undoubtedly taking me from glory to glory.

I pray that the Holy Spirit would be bringing the unexposed sins up in your heart so that you may bring them to the feet of the One who first loved you. I pray your heart would be willing to make an exchange with King Jesus, your crimson stains, for a blanket of pure white snow.

In the midst of a snow storm, He is washing me white as snow.

"'Come now, let us reason together', says the Lord. 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.'" Isaiah 1:18
